A Little Bit Of Texas

Carlos Washington’s Steel Horse Swing Carlos Washington’s Steel Horse Swing has released their second CD and following the footsteps of their first one this 10 tune CD is a real gem. This album again spotlights the vocals of Carlos Washington. Tom Broderick is the steel guitarist, Daniel Quisenberry is the drummer and Jesse West is the bassist. Ernie Martinez plays electric telecaster archtop guitar and Ron Jones plays fiddle. Also heard are Sue Link, Kenneth McNamara, Jimmy Lee Robbins and John Magnie.

The material is wonderful contemporary western swing. The album opens with the western oriented I Can Still Make Cheyenne. That is followed by a future top 10 hit written by Carlos, Little Bit of Texas. The group then reprise the Bob Wills, Cindy Walker classic, Sugar Moon and also from the Wills book, Cindy’s Miss Molly. Also penned in full or in part by Carlos are the Western I’m a Cowboy Y’all and I’m Coming Home. The group also brings back Rex Griffin’s My Little Red Wagon and from the Ella Mae Morse hit parade, House of Blue Lights. Another classic is The King of Western Swing and the remaining item is a fine new tune, It Was Love at First Swing.

The CD is available at www.steelhorseswing.com and click on the CD or at the CD Baby site. Mike Gross, KSEY-FM, Seymour, TX & KTNK-AM, Lompoc, CA
