This wonderful Albuquerque western swing band has just released a another exciting new CD. This time it is a tribute to Wiley Walker and Gene Sullivan, legendary Western Swing musicians and songwriters. This fantastic album has 13 cuts of which all but the old favorite Grandfather’s Clock were written by Wiley and Gene. This new CD is sure to chart really soon.
The album opens up with a very enjoyable I Want to Live and Love Always and then goes on to the fantastic classic Forgive Me. Now brought back are new versions of Kansas City Blues, Don’t You Dare and Make Room in Your Heart for a Friend, all with Top 10 potential.
They also bring back so many other enjoyable musical memories from Wiley and Gene with a top class reworking of Live and Let Live, Wednesday Night Waltz, When My Blue Moon Turns to Gold Again, I Might Have Known, Teardrop Waltz, Love Ain’t Worrying Me and the very interesting Variations on Rubber Dolly.
The group bandleader, John T. Feldman is heard on lead vocals, steel guitar, mandolin, banjo and guitar. There are many others helping out on lead and harmony vocals including Jordan Ripley, Byron Ripley, Joe Carter, Carol and Corrina Feldman and Maryse LaPierre. Jay Rosenblum is heard on bass and Tom Walker and David Nidel do drums. The fiddles are played by Robert Parsons, Grey Howell and Aubrey Hovey. Art Maya, Stan Burg and Robert Rambo play guitar with Byron Ripley also guitar, Larry Freedman-piano and Tim Clark- trumpet and cornet. There are also many other wonderful musicians that are given credit on the CD liner notes.
